Jacking Oil Pump

Also known as "lift pump", it is used in steam, gas and hydraulic turbine transition units. During start-up it generates a lubricating film between shaft and bearing, as it is not guaranteed by the high rotation speed. During shut-down it maintains the lubricating film and supports the rotor for the entire cooling phase, which is carried out at low rotation speed (the cooling phase is required to avoid deformation or bending of the rotor).
